Full 30-Hour Driver’s Education Course for Teens & Adults in Newington, CT

Our most complete path to a license. This program pairs 30 hours of live Zoom classes with 8 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons. It goes well beyond Connecticut’s 8-hour drug and alcohol safety minimum, teaching new drivers how to handle real Newington roads with confidence and courtesy. Teens benefit from a shorter license wait time, and many families qualify for insurance discounts depending on their provider. Classes can be taken in any order, and extra lessons can be added whenever you need them.

Most students complete the program in about 8 weeks during the normal school year and as fast as 2 weeks during summer break.

8 Hour Safe Driving Course

Our 8-hour safe driving course, also called the drug and alcohol safety course, satisfies Connecticut’s minimum driver education requirement. Every session is led by a certified instructor over Zoom, so you can complete the requirement from home on a schedule that fits your life. The course is offered as either:
  • One 8-hour day (adults only)
  • Two 4-hour days
  • Four 2-hour sessions

Driving Lessons

Private Driving Lessons in Newington, CT

Lessons run in 2-hour blocks and start with the fundamentals, giving your instructor a clear read on your experience, skill, and comfort behind the wheel. From there, we help you master each core skill before moving on to the next: accelerating, braking, turning, and parking maneuvers first. Then, we’ll graduate to lane choice, speed management, city and rural roads, hill driving, highway driving, and mock road tests if purchased.

License Testing

Official Driver’s License Road Test at The Next Street | Newington, CT

Skip the DMV chaos and test with us instead. You’ll use our car, at our location, with a TNS test host on hand to answer last-minute questions and settle any nerves. We handle the paperwork ahead of time, and the DMV agent comes to us to evaluate students. Testing where you’re most comfortable can make such a difference on the big day!

Per DMV regulations, students must complete at least one 2-hour driving lesson with us to be eligible to test at our locations.
