Driver Education Courses | Danbury, CT

At The Next Street driving school, our team of experienced instructors is dedicated to delivering engaging and effective driver’s ed courses. We empower our students with the skills and knowledge they need to become safe and confident drivers in Danbury, CT.

Full Driver Education Course

This all-inclusive driving program goes above and beyond the Connecticut state minimum requirements. It equips new drivers with a lasting foundation of safe driving skills and confidence on the road.

This course includes: 

  • 30 hours of flexible classroom instruction
  • 8 hours of private driving lessons 

Any additional driving lessons may be added at the time of enrollment, or any time before scheduling your driver’s license road test. This course does not include license testing, but this service is available during online enrollment.

8 Hour Driving Course

This basic course fulfills the minimum driver education requirements for the state of Connecticut. All class instruction is led by our outstanding, certified instructors. Sessions are held virtually on zoom. 

We offer three different session lengths:

  • Four 2-hour days
  • Two 4-hour days
  • One 8-hour day (18+ only)

This course does not include any private driving lessons or license testing. These additional services are available for selection during enrollment or any time before you schedule your driver’s license road test.

Driving Lessons | Danbury, CT

Connecticut requires new teen drivers (16-17 years old) to complete 40 hours of driving practice with a trainer (anyone with a US driver’s license for at least 4 years and no suspensions). 

Driving lessons with The Next Street count towards these required driving practice hours. Gain behind-the-wheel experience merging on I-84 and driving through downtown Danbury with our professional instructors.

Private Driving Lessons

The Next Street driving lessons are tailored to each individual driver, cultivating an atmosphere of patience, empathy, and zero judgment. 

Driving lessons are 2-hour appointments in which students are in the driver’s seat, with a highly trained instructor beside them. All lessons are done in our dual-controlled cars, and equipped with GPS monitoring to keep you safe.

Mock License Test Driving Lesson

This unique driving session mimics Connecticut’s driver’s license road test. In this 2-hour lesson, our focus will be on preparing you to pass your license test. Our certified instructors perform multiple mock tests on a used testing route to evaluate your performance in much the same way the Connecticut DMV would.

Feedback and notes will be given at the end of the mock test, followed by working on areas that need improvement or require extra practice.

License Testing at The Next Street | Danbury CT

The Next Street makes it easy to take your driver’s license road test right at our facility. We offer on-site license testing in our cars at a location you are familiar with.

When taking your driver’s license road test with us, you’ll have a TNS host on hand to answer questions and ease anxieties. We handle all paperwork with the DMV in advance, and a DMV agent visits our location to evaluate students.

    While our instructor was great, the fact that we signed up and paid for testing in the vehicle we trained in, and then on the day of the test were told to take a completely different vehicle is just not ok. My daughter had no idea how to navigate the inside of that new vehicle, adjust seats, side mirrors, etc. Driving tests are stressful enough without having to deal with this. NOT OK.
