8-Hour Driving Course

The Next Street 8-hour driving course is designed to meet the mandatory Safe Driving course needed to fulfill the state’s mandatory driver’s education requirements. It doesn’t get you behind the wheel, but ensures all drivers understand the most important aspects of safe driving, particularly drug and alcohol use.

Through flexible Zoom sessions, students learn from live instructors. This class can be paired with additional driving lessons and license testing in order to get the full driving school experience. To best fit into your busy schedule, we offer different class-length options:

  • 1 eight-hour class (only available for drivers 18 years and older)
  • 2 four-hour classes

Private Driving Lessons

The most exciting part of a driving school course is actually practicing driving. Using our vehicles, equipped with GPS and safety equipment, our instructors ensure students feel challenged yet safe in every 2-hour block of driving practice and observation. Your level of experience and comfort behind the wheel is considered at the start of lessons, so your learning experience is adjusted to your needs.

You’ll learn to brake, accelerate, turn, and park, all in familiar areas around Whisconier Road, Obtuse Hill, and Brookfield Center. You’ll learn how to navigate these places like a driver rather than a passenger. As you gain more experience, your instructor will guide you through more advanced skills, such as lane decisions, speed management, and driving in the city or the country.

Mock License Test Driving Lesson

In this 2-hour lesson, you and your instructor will focus on preparing to pass your license test. You’ll drive all around Brookfield and neighboring cities like New Fairfield and Danbury. With the chance to practice as many real-life driving scenarios as possible, you’ll feel comfortable and confident in your abilities before going into the driving exam.

We know it can be rough to test at the Danbury DMV. The hours aren’t always flexible enough to fit your schedule. Then there can be long, uncomfortable lines, lengthy wait times, and an unfamiliar instructor for your driving exam.

The Next Street works to reduce test anxiety for students by offering road tests at our facilities. We bring a DMV agent to each location and complete all the paperwork beforehand, so all you have to worry about is passing your test. If you’d like, you can also use one of the TNS vehicles you’ve been practicing in. Leading up to your exam, a TNS instructor will be there to answer any last-minute questions and support you before your test.
