Our Full Driver’s Education Course

At our Amherst, MA, location, you’ll receive 30 hours of live, in-person instruction, along with 12 hours of in-car training and driving lessons, and 6 hours of observation-style lessons. With this course, you’ll fulfill all the requirements needed to become a licensed driver in the state of Massachusetts.

Our driver’s ed course is designed to provide a clear, comprehensive lesson plan for adults and teen drivers who want to get behind the wheel for the first time. Trying to fit classes into an already busy schedule? This can also be a partially online course, with individuals joining our classes over live video conferencing when needed.

For even more convenience, you can take classes in any order and add on more driving lessons until you feel confident in the driver’s seat. Depending on your insurance provider, the price of our course may be lowered with relevant insurance discounts.

Driving Lessons

Available in convenient 2-hour blocks, our Amherst, MA driving lessons are designed for adults and teens. Your driving instructor will start off with the basics to gauge your experience, skill, and confidence on the road.

As you pass through each lesson, your instructor will help you practice and learn each core driving skill. They’ll tailor the lessons to your comfort level and driving ability, so that you feel prepared at every stage of your lesson.

We’ll start off with essential skills like accelerating, braking, turning, and various parking maneuvers. Then, through supervised driving on main roads, we’ll guide you through more advanced skills such as lane choice, speed management, driving on hills, and navigating the highway. We’ll also teach you how to drive in the city and the countryside.

Driver’s License Road Test at The Next Street

Skip the lines and long waits at the RMV by taking your road test with us. Simplify your driver’s license road test with help from The Next Street. Sign up and you’ll be scheduled to use our car and our Amherst, MA, location for your test.

We’ll also make sure a TNS host is available to answer any last-minute questions and concerns and help talk you through any anxiety. Our team will also handle all the paperwork beforehand, and an RMV agent will come to our location to proctor your driving test, making the whole process as smooth as possible.

Driver’s License Road Test at the RMV (with TNS Car + Sponsor)

Want to take your road test at the RMV? Let The Next Street make it easier. We’ll provide you with full test-day support at your select RMV location. You’ll have access to our vehicle, and we’ll schedule your test and meet you there. All you have to focus on is acing your driver’s test! Your TNS instructor will also be your sponsor during the test.

This option ensures you won’t have to deal with any extra stress or confusion, like finding a car or knowing when you’ll need to be at the RMV on test day. Oftentimes, we can also help ensure you get an earlier appointment, so you can complete your exam and get your driver’s license sooner than later.

MA - Driving Lessons

License test appointments at our select locations are released to us by the RMV on a month-by-month basis. You may purchase a license test during enrollment or anytime after in the student portal. Once you have completed all of your requirements and are eligible to test, please contact us to schedule your license test appointment at The Next Street.
