When will DMVs be reopening Road Tests?
Right now, we have no indication from the DMV when license testing will resume. We are hopeful it will coincide with the Phase 2 reopening in CT. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available to us.
Are the driving lessons still going to be 2 hours at a time?
Yes, we will still be doing driving lessons in 2hr intervals like before, but with some specific health guidelines to ensure the continued safety of our instructors and students.
When will I get my CS-1 Certificate?
Due to the nature of remote learning, DMV now requires us to collect signatures and quizzes for each class, making our process for generating certificates delayed. We have just finished working with our software team to make the writing of certificates possible again and have started the process of issuing them. We will be back to our normal promise of issuing it within 2 weeks of your final class or driving lesson.
Why can I book a date with the DMV and you are not allowing us to?
At this time the Dmv has suspended all road tests until further notice. You can visit their website at https://portal.ct.gov/dmv for more information. DMV seems to be cancelling a week at a time. If you have been booked for a Road Test within the next several weeks, chances are it may be cancelled.
I missed a class; how do I reschedule?
You can reschedule a makeup class by logging in to your student portal and click the makeup button next to the class you have missed or are going to miss. We are offering Zoom Classes until Aug. 31st therefore the location of the class does not matter.

Can I get my certificate I finished in February/March before Covid-19 shut down?
Absolutely! We are currently working on mailing those certificates out and you should receive them within 2weeks. Should you need it sooner please reach out to us and let us know of your situation.
Why does my session say, “session passed” and not giving me an option to click make up?
We have recently updated the Student Portal and always looking to improve it. Right now, once the attendance has been updated you will be able to see the make up button. Please give us a call if you don’t want to wait.
How do I access my schedule?
You can see your schedule 24 hours a day/7 days a week by logging into your student portal, clicking on ‘Scheduling’ and then ‘My Schedule.’
Am I, the parent supposed to sign the signature box or my student?
For students under 18, Parents should sign the signature box after. Students over 18 can sign the box themselves.
Does my child need to be 16 to attend? Do they need their permit to attend?
Students may start classes at the age of 16 with no permit, in fact we recommend they take a few classes before getting their permit. You can enroll into a class that starts on or before their 16th Birthday.
Why is it necessary to do the quizzes after every session now, if they are doing it through Zoom?
The current Zoom Class is something just approved during the Covid-19 shutdown and the DMV requires adequate proof verifying a student’s attendance. We added a quiz to show the student’s knowledge of the classroom time they completed.
Does my kid still have priority for the make up for the test/driving lessons that he or she was supposed to have taken back in, March/April/May?
We are prioritizing students who had cancelled lessons between March and June first, as well as students who are coming up on permit expiration's and license test ineligibility. We are working very hard to make this as fair as possible, while still making this easy for our customers.
My test was cancelled between March 16 and June 22. When will I be rescheduled to test?
Our License Testing team is working non-stop to reschedule all cancelled tests. We are using a cancellation list, and going through it in order based on cancellation date, location, and other factors. We will contact you directly when we get to your name on the list. We appreciate your patience. For students under 18, Parents should sign the signature box after. Students over 18 can sign the box themselves.
Where am I on the list of cancellations?
We cancelled over 100 test dates, in 20 locations, of over 2,000 students. If your test was cancelled in March you are in the top 1/4 of the list. If your test was cancelled in April you are in the top 1/2 of the list. If your test was cancelled in May you are in the back half of the list. If your test was cancelled in June you are in the back 1/4 of the list.
I didn't have a test date cancelled, when can I schedule a new appointment?
Once we process all cancellations OR the DMV supplies us with enough testing dates to alleviate the backlog, we will be able to schedule new students into tests. We plan to turn on self-scheduling in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned! For students under 18, Parents should sign the signature box after. Students over 18 can sign the box themselves.
If I get a test date at the DMV sooner than with you, can I test with them and get a refund from you?

I'm eligible to take the test, but I still have driving lessons to complete. What can I do?
You have several options. 1. You can finish up your driving lessons with what we have available. Then take your test. 2. You can test as soon as you get a test date at DMV or with us, and take the lessons later if you are eligible for the Full Course certificate. 3. I passed my test! How do I get my license?
There have been some changes to this procedure since the resumption of license testing. You will need to bring a check made out to the DMV for $84, which is the cost of the new license. Parents of students under 18 or students over 18 will need to fill out an application to have your license mailed to you. The DMV will mail you your license. For students under 18, Parents should sign the signature box after. Students over 18 can sign the box themselves.
I passed my test! Can I drive alone while I wait for my license to arrive in the mail?
The DMV is not issuing temporary licenses as they have in the past, while you wait for the actual license. Until you receive the physical license, you are still on Lerner's Permit rules. For students under 18, Parents should sign the signature box after. Students over 18 can sign the box themselves.
