About This Job

The Next Street Educator is an awesome individual who is passionate about outstanding customer service. Qualified applicants will be trained to teach both classroom and behind the wheel lessons with a goal of building the foundation for safe driving in every student, regardless of age. A paid time 45-hour intensive training to obtain a DMV certification to teach driver’s ed will be provided (You don't need to know a thing about driver's ed to start this job, you just need to be an excellent human). The Next Street Driving Educator is well groomed, punctual, and possesses good communication skills, confidence, patience, as well as a strong attention to detail. Educators are expected to follow the curriculum of The Next Street. You must have had your license in the USA for at least 5 years with no suspensions, have a clean driving record, pass a drug test, have no criminal history and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent to become a driving instructor at The Next Street. Interested? Apply below!

Hours

For Full Time (School Year)

  • Must be available at least 30 hours per week
  • Monday – Thursday, 2:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Saturday or Sunday, 9:00am – 9:00pm

Full Time (Summer)

  • Must be available at least 30 hours per week
  • Monday – Sunday, 8:00am – 9:00pm

Part Time

  • Must be available for weekend and evening hours

Dress Code

  • Appropriate professional.
  • Tucked in collared shirt with khakis or non-ripped denim.
  • Appropriate shorts are permitted on warm days.
  • Dress slacks or appropriate length skirts/dresses.
  • No sneakers or sandals.
  • No low cut tops, tank tops, T-shirts or spandex are allowed.

Reponsibilities

Classroom Instruction

  • Be comfortable teaching in a large group setting for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Understand our commitment to The Nexperience, and relay it to students and parents.
  • Know safe driving subject matter thoroughly.
  • Deliver engaging and creative presentations of the material.
  • Seek out and participate in continuing education opportunities to improve classroom presentations and safe driving knowledge.

Behind the Wheel Instruction

  • Work one-on-one with students of varying behind the wheel experience.
  • Our educators sit in the passenger seat for our dual controlled cars while students are driving.
  • Thoughtfully fill out the instruction log for each student after each lesson.
  • Make recommendations of what should be worked on with parents.
  • Use judgement to assess individual students’ skills and adjust curriculum as needed.
  • Fill out Vehicle Inspection Report at beginning and end of day.
  • Follow all driving laws as they are written at all times.
  • Must be comfortable working one-on-one with teen and adult students.

General Employment

  • Educators are responsible for proactively checking their work schedule as changes may occur.
  • Same day scheduling changes will be communicated to the educator.
  • Punctuality and attendance are vital to success in this position.
  • Educator must have daily access to email and phone.
